Faculty

Our Faculty are learning facilitators whose primary purpose at CTI is to direct independent learning.

About the Faculty

CTI maintains some full and part-time faculty. However, it relies on the voluntary participation of talented academics and professionals from different locations around the world and diverse disciplines who subscribe to its volunteer faculty system. Their responsibilities range from remotely facilitating seminars for individual courses, to supervising individual student projects for a few hours a week. CTI periodically invites industry experts and academics to talk to our community about their work. At CTI, we also encourage our best graduates to stay on as fellows and work on their projects while providing guidance for new learners. Such diversity sustains an active space for learning and exchange where there is always someone to call on to help our learners think through problems. CTI encourages local and international academics whose work covers, the Humanities, Maths and Computing to apply to our volunteer faculty program. We also strongly encourage industry professionals with expertise in Software, Mobile and Cloud Computing and Networking Systems to apply. CTI only needs a few hours of your time a week to change lives through education.

Guest Speaker Program

The Centre for Technology Innovation (CTI) is a unique graduate level program that trains aspiring Nigerian technology workers and entrepreneurs in an interdisciplinary learning environment. The centre combines courses in the Liberal Arts with courses in software engineering to educate the next generation of Nigeria's entrepreneurs and leaders in technology. As part of this program, the Centre is introducing its guest speaker series. In this series we invite scholars and practitioners whose work theoretically explore some of the social problems that form the basis of the solutions people in technology approach technically. We also invite scholars and practitioners in the arts whose work open up the discourses of aesthetics, design, conceptual thinking and the creative process. The aim is to provide a platform to challenge how we think about problems and to open up a wider frame of reference to people who otherwise are confined to a mostly technical knowledge base.
